Syntax: numbers, x, a, pi, e, parentheses, + − × ÷ %, powers (^), and sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sqrt, abs, ln, log, exp, floor, ceil, round, min, and max. Trigonometric inputs follow the selected angle mode. This tool graphs explicit y = f(x) expressions only; it does not provide symbolic algebra, implicit equations, inequalities, derivatives, integrals, regression, or equation solving.

What This Calculator Does

Plot up to eight explicit functions of x on an interactive coordinate plane. Pan and zoom the view, adjust the visible ranges, inspect coordinates, evaluate functions at an x-value, and generate a table of values without sending expressions to a server.

How It Works

Each expression is parsed locally using standard arithmetic precedence and sampled across the visible x-range. Undefined points are left as gaps. The parameter a can be adjusted with a slider; trigonometric functions use the selected radians or degrees mode. Each expression is limited to 160 characters and one hundred tokens.

Example

Enter y = 2x + 1 and y = x^2 to compare a straight line with a parabola. At x = 2, the line returns 5 and the parabola returns 4; use the value table to compare nearby inputs.

Formula

Line example
y = 2x + 1
Quadratic example
y = x^2

Reading the Results

Graph

A sampled visual plot of each valid explicit y = f(x) expression within the selected viewing window.

Table values

Numerical function outputs at the selected x-values. Undefined values are identified rather than silently replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expressions can I graph?

Plot up to eight explicit functions of x. Use arithmetic, powers, parentheses, pi, e, the parameter a, and the listed trigonometric and common math functions. Expressions are limited in length and complexity so evaluation stays responsive.

Does this calculate derivatives or integrals?

No. It plots sampled explicit functions and evaluates numerical values; it does not provide symbolic algebra, derivatives, integrals, implicit equations, inequalities, regression, or equation solving.

Are my expressions sent to a server?

No. Parsing, sampling, plotting, and evaluation happen in this browser session; the tool does not call a graphing service.
